Founder Background Story:
Lisa Shea Smith
web technology consultant
I started my web career way back in the days when my Mom got her first computer from my granddad her father, my Santa Claus. It was 1990 something, and that is when I went to work on educating my Mom on how to use it, (lol) I taught her basic computer/internet skills.
I later took a college course in Computer 101 and fell in love with the computer. I earned a degree in print Graphic Design at Austin Peay State University, in the ways of Photoshop, Illustrator, QuarkXpress, and InDesign. While in college, I was forced…. (Well I was not quite forced), to teach 7-16 year olds how to create their very own web pages using HTML. It was either that or return home with no pay for summer break.
That was an experience. It was at ACE Computer Camp for Kids. I taught myself web and basic programming at night and taught kids during the day. The kids were so excited about learning and one of my students made a web site about boogers. (His mom definitely was not that thrilled about the fact that her son decided to make a web site that focused on boogers). Among HTML, I also taught Flash, Photoshop and other computer software. It was a challenge teaching kids HTML, because kids have short attention spans, but they got it, and plus I had fun doing it.
I was excited to see how easily I grasped the language of the web and was able to teach it in a way that people got it. From that point on, I created my own web site (LisaSheaDesign.com) and designed websites for others. I went back to school and advanced my skills in HTML, CSS and Flash by taking courses at UCLA Extension. My gift is being a Web Interpreter. I am able to translate the technical and creative side of the web. I will work with you and coach you on how to conquer the web, creating a great web solution that fits your web needs and helps you save tons of money!
